The ILO currently implements several global and regional programs with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation in strengthening agricultural opportunities in Haïti, in developing skills and lifelong learning systems, as well as in Youth Employment and Gender Equalities in several countries in Africa, Arab States and Asia and the Pacific.
In addition to its contributions for specific programmes and projects, in 2022-23, Norway contributed over US$ 3.8 million to the ILO Regular Budget Supplementary Account, allowing the Office to allocate these funds flexibly when and where they are most needed.
Furthermore, the ILO benefits from Norwegian expertise through the country’s participation in the Junior Professional Officer programme.
