Responsible Business Conduct in Latin America and the Caribbean (RBCLAC)
The new Responsible Business Conduct project in Latin America and the Caribbean (RBCLAC), funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented in collaboration with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Office of the High Commissioner of The United Nations for Human Rights (OHCHR), aims to promote smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in the EU and in Latin America and the Caribbean, by supporting responsible business conduct practices, in line with the UN, ILO and OECD instruments.

The project aims to promote smart, sustainable and inclusive growth in the EU and in Latin America and the Caribbean, by supporting responsible business conduct practices, in line with the instruments of the United Nations, the ILO and the OECD.
Components
The execution of the project revolves around three main pillars that facilitate the achievement of its objectives in the region. These pillars are the following:
Directives

Tripartite declaration of principles concerning multinational enterprises and social policy
Document prepared by the International Labor Organization (ILO) together with governments and employers and workers organizations.

OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises
Document prepared by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Guiding principles on business and human rights
Document prepared by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).
Geographical Focus
-
In order to achieve improvements with respect to the fulfillment of human rights in the different business activities, the project is carried out in a coordinated and joint manner in different countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
