Accelerating action for the elimination of child labour in supply chains in Africa (ACCEL AFRICA) - 2nd phase in brief
The ACCEL Africa Project is entering its second phase with a strong commitment to eradicating child labour in supply chains across Africa. It is continuing to target the root causes of child labour in specific countries and supply chains, particularly in agriculture, mining, and the rural economy. <br><br> The focus countries for intervention are Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria, and Uganda, working in the cocoa, coffee, cotton, gold, and tea supply chains.

ASEAN Member States have taken steps to expand social protection, especially after the adoption of the 2013 ASEAN Declaration on Strengthening Social Protection. The pandemic pushed ASEAN governments to reassess and often reaffirm commitments to establish social protection and expand existing schemes with renewed vigour. Employer and business membership organizations (EBMOs) have a vital role in supporting social protection programmes, especially through funding, and thus should be meaningfully involved in system design and implementation.
