Prior to joining the ILO, Kyana served as the Programme Officer – Humanitarian, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Resilience with the UN Women Multi Country Office – Caribbean for three years (2020 – 2022).
ILO participates at Just Transition Workshop, Trinidad and Tobago Energy Conference
The objective of the workshop was to facilitate discussion on a Just Transition for Trinidad and Tobago ensuring that the benefits of transitioning to a green economy are shared by all stakeholders taking into account environmental considerations, structural changes to labour markets and emerging technologies.
Caribbean trainers successfully complete ILO Youth Entrepreneurship Academy
The Academy, held from 30 November to 6 December 2022, was conceived to build the capacity in supporting youth entrepreneurship in the areas of business planning, general entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship for young women, digital innovation and inclusion and green business.
Taking Action to meet SDG Target 8.7 to end Child Labour by 2025: Building capacity for action on the ground in Trinidad and Tobago and in Suriname.
As active members supported by the ILO Regional Initiative Latin America and the Caribbean Free of Child Labour, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname have pressed forward with the implementation of national plans to prevent and eliminate child labour, building the capacity of the national labour inspectorates and key stakeholders to identify cases and take action to address this issue.
